Generally 10-12 days, occasionally some are longer.
Silversea and Atlas have new short itineraries of about 6 days where they fly into and out of King George Island. This is a great option for those who are short on time or want to avoid crossing the Drake Passage. The season is very short and only runs Nov to Feb.
These voyages can retail as high as $20-30K per person.
The lowest we ever see fares on these expedition voyages is about $10,000 USD per person, and it is rare to see them any lower, if we are lucky, $8000 is the very lowest level they would ever drop to.
If you are flexible and are willing to travel with a month or two notice, then voyages in Nov/Dec each year, can be offered at the lowest rates from Sep/Oct each year.
Our preferred operators that offer the best interline rates are:
Silversea
Seabourn
Ponant
Silversea and Seabourn have larger ships of about 400/600 pax that they outfit with zodiacs to compete a season in the Antarctic, which is how all shore excursions are conducted on expedition voyages.
Hurtigruten is a Norwegian brand that offers cheaper options for about $6000 AUD.
However, we suggest you try to secure a berth on one of their purpose-built expedition ships which are much smaller at only 200 pax and really will take your experience to the next level.
As us for details about specific inclusions as most operators provide a pre-cruise hotel in Buenos Aires and charter flights between there and back to Ushuaia
